  • Awana Zimbabwe School Program Impact Evaluation

Awana, a global non-profit offering Bible-based programs, has expanded to over 1,000 schools in Zimbabwe and Africa.

An evaluation by EIG Insights revealed several significant findings: there was an increased likelihood of participants being saved, reading the Bible independently, and sharing the gospel. Additionally, there was a rise in prosocial behavior and a reduction in anti-social behavior. Participants experienced an improvement in overall well-being, with most reporting supportive adults. Academically, there was an increase in school attendance and an improvement in reading and writing skills, while no significant changes in risk behaviors were observed.

Overall, these findings underscore the program's effectiveness in enhancing spiritual, emotional, and academic growth.

  • One Village Transformed Qualitative Retrospective Evaluation

World Concern is a Christian non-profit dedicated to serving underdeveloped communities in Africa, Asia, and Haiti through its One Village Transformed (OVT) program, which addresses both physical and spiritual needs.

In 2021, they partnered with Edessa Research Consultants (now part of EIG Insights) to evaluate the program's impact in Uganda and South Sudan. The evaluation, conducted through interviews and focus groups, highlighted numerous positive changes in health, agriculture, and relationships, with spiritual growth and improved farming techniques serving as key drivers of transformation. While challenges like decreased harvests and flooding were acknowledged, the results highlighted World Concern's programming as a strong driver of positive change in people's lives.

  • The Mentoring Alliance Outcome Evaluation

EIG Insights partners with The Mentoring Alliance (TMA) to enhance their outcome evaluations through rigorous data analysis. We craft custom surveys for TMA's After School, Summer Camp, and Mentor Connect programs, providing crucial insights that empower donors and program teams. Our collaboration with local school districts further showcases the transformative impact of TMA’s initiatives.

In 2024, our findings revealed impressive outcomes: 81% of participants were eager to embrace new challenges, 20% noted they would struggle academically without TMA's support, and 90% felt God's presence in their lives, with 67% choosing to trust and obey Jesus for the first time. These results highlight the profound influence of TMA's programs on children and youth.

  • Developing a Theory of Change for Medical Benevolence Foundation

The Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF) supports local churches' medical ministries in underserved areas by managing mission hospitals, clinics, and nursing schools, and has established a collaborative network in Malawi to improve healthcare quality. They have contracted EIG Insights to develop a measurement plan and a Theory of Change (ToC), which visually outlines how the program achieves its goals through logical connections between activities and outcomes. This process includes stakeholder insights and will culminate in a workshop in December 2024 to finalize the draft ToC, ensuring it has the necessary buy-in from MBF Malawi leadership.

  • Alpha International Measurement Framework Review

Alpha International, a charity dedicated to helping people develop relationships with Jesus, partnered with EIG Insights to enhance its monitoring and evaluation framework while piloting an exciting new Guest Survey. This assessment revealed opportunities to improve data collection and reporting methods and ensuring the survey effectively measures outcomes for various stakeholders. EIG Insights reviewed 34 documents and conducted engaging Zoom interviews with 13 participants over two weeks in July 2024.

Our findings highlighted the potential for meaningful change and enhancements to the Guest Survey experience. Recommendations focused on leveraging survey data for diverse stakeholders, addressing staff concerns about survey fatigue before adding new requirements, and investing in staff and systems to elevate outcome data collection. Together, these efforts aim to empower Alpha in its mission to help individuals develop a lasting personal relationship with Jesus.
